I find it too easy to start my morning on my computer. Granted I have a lovely view out the window, a view that always includes flowers and bees and hummingbirds but still… . I switch back and forth from the nearly always dire headlines to the flowers moving in the breeze of the hummer’s impossible wing beats. The headlines change every day but that hummer is only now, in this moment, stoking a living furnace needed to make those wings beat.
Most days I end up shutting down the computer and wandering out among the flowers. Each bloom seems to mimic a human face, but these all say “Good morning, John!” I hope you will take a few minutes to join me on this walk. I know it is a lot of images but, then, the front page of the NYT is a lot too! And feel free to come back to these images more than once, like the hummingbird and bumblebees come back to the real flowers many times each morning.

Thanks for the garden tour. It was a welcome respite.
