Still Learning To See

Spring unfurls

There was way too much news this morning and none of it pleasant to read. If we reported what is happening in the non-human world, the Sunday Times would be three or four times as thick and all of it would be a joyous celebration of life and death on a grand scale. On May 9th we had 3″ of snow and this week the temperatures will be in the 80s. Bees buzzing, flowers opening every day, warblers among the new leaves, the hillsides a haze of greens, all of it driven by the sun and the wheel of life.

Here are a few of the photographs that might appear in the news of the natural world. Mother Nature “tweets” her updates even more frequently than our president does and Hers, unlike his, are based in reality.

Oh, John! Your thoughtful words and pictures nurture my very soul to its roots! You can be in charge of my “news” any day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We need “the good news” every day, and it’s just as close as learning to see (through you and through our own eyes)! Be well, keep safe. You are a valuable asset to humankind!
