Still Learning To See

Walking with friends

Friends from around the world, clearly things are changing very rapidly with many unknowns and lots of fears. One thing I know can always be healthy is a walk, especially (but not only) when the sun is shining.

I am fortunate to be able to walk and to have friends who enjoy my company, even at a six foot distance!

And, of course, the bonus is that Spring awaits us, and it too is also moving fast—about 100 miles every week. It is well underway! Bears are awake here in Central Vermont and Red Wing Blackbirds are singing in many places. Underground, despite snow cover, the world is abuzz.

Tomorrow, I’ll call my 87-year old friend Ann and, spry as she is still, I’ll hope to be able to keep up with her!  And here is a preview of coming attractions, a photograph I made a few years back on April 25th at my sister’s home in Charlottesville, VA.

A lovely picture, and what we see in this picture is all ahead for us. I have to keep my shrub covered, or the deer eat all the new buds.
