Still Learning To See

Lighting the night

jrsjr-00452

There are many things I love about this little city I live in. One special event is a lantern parade that happens in the dark of the year. The kids at the elementary school make paper and bamboo lanterns, lighted with small LEDs, and gather together for a making magic in the dark. Thank you teachers, parents, kids, community for supporting this amazing evening. I know you all slept well!

What a lovely photo presentation of the lantern parade. I remember the community support Waterbury displayed when I was involved with it. Both sides of the street were filled the entire parade route. Such a simple way to involve all ages and radiate spirit. Your photos are so fascinating the way you caught the mood, atmosphere, and the movement over the detail of faces etc. If I were a painter I would love to work with these images. My brain is ticking, beware. Don’t get blown away. D
