Cold magic

Bitter cold these past few days. Last winter we had so much of this—27 days below 0F—that we nearly got used to is but this short stretch, probably the last of such cold, really felt cold and hard. I even rationalized not going back out to the river figuring it had probably frozen over completely. Whimp!

But here are two from earlier in the week, still plenty cold as the clarity of the ice proves, but tolerably so given that I knew we’d stop at Red Hen to thaw our fingers around a bowl of soup after.ice-6820

  1. Love this bubbly I Ever! Have you tried blowing bubbles outside with your low temperatures? I think it is supposed to be quite amazing….might make some interesting pictures too.
    I’ll try to call you tonight!,
