Still Learning To See

Remembering the cold reality of last winter

Last week I was working in my garden in my shirtsleeves. Today, though not bitter cold, we at least have some snow on the ground and, according to the long-term forecast, more coming. It was lovely to get out in the colder weather for a long walk in East Montpelier.

Crazy to remember a year ago we started into a stretch of weather unlike any I’ve seen in my 39 years in Vermont: from January 1st to the end of February we had 6 days at or above freezing and 37 days at or below 0F (-18C). Quite a contrast to last week!
