While many are celebrating Cyber Monday and Black Friday, I’m delighting in
“New Ice Week!” Conditions are just perfect this year because we’ve had little snow and some nice clear, crisp mornings—perfect for still water to freeze into other-worldly formations. Once we have a few below-freezing days in a row or snow, all this is gone for another year.
The images below, even though large, just can’t compare to reality or even a very large printed photograph. I hope you can get out and enjoy some of the real stuff in the very short time it is here.
I’ll be out again this morning—”Thermal Tuesday?”—for more fun in the cold.
Beautiful, John. I love watching the ice form on our brackish cove this time of year, and then totally melting as the sun rises.
Love how you take delight in every phase of nature–those clear panes of ice are like windows into another world! Thanks 🙂
