Still Learning To See

Patterns at the beach

We recently spent a week on the beach near Wilmington, North Carolina, just six days ahead of the visit by Hurricane Arthur. Our weather was gorgeous and the water perfect. I came away with many photographs of patterns of all kinds.

These are a few abstractions of sand, water, reflections and light with a little magic thrown in for good measure—a favorite combination of mine. (To really see the full beauty of these photographs, just click on any one of them and then scroll through the resulting larger versions.)
