Still Learning To See

Still cold, thankfully

I know this cold weather has resulted in inconveniences for many and dire situations for a few. Honestly, I love it.

Rob and I got out on a small river near Plainfield Tuesday. It was bitter but that is what it takes to make magic with water by turning it into ice. Dressing warmly, inserting a couple hot packs in our gloves and, most importantly, being very careful at all times, made it a fabulous afternoon.

What a remarkable formation these are, made as water splashes up in very cold weather.
Ice, ice and more ice
We used great care walking on the river ice to make these photos and many more, given the dangers, were left there.
