What a delightful run of crisp, sunny days and cold, clear nights we’ve had. Most mornings, as is often the case with these conditions, there has also been fog. That, in turn, often freezes into what is generally termed hoarfrost. There were some white spectacles this past week! And then the new moon… !

The hillside at North Branch Nature Center, covered in hoarfrost, sets off the shimmering bend of the river.

Further downstream the large Black Willows and the bridge across the river set against the frosty hillside.
These are wonderful! I love the term “hoarfrost”–makes me think of “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”! Thanks š
Very cool. Miss those sights.
