Still Learning To See

This morning it is impossible for me to balance the delicate frost on the fields with the madness rampant in so much of the rest of the world. So it goes.

great shots. the frost looks lovely agains the dark background. hard to balance, and yet, it is delicate and sombre, a visual metaphor of many situations in our world.

  2. So true, John–but I keep remembering Anne Frank’s words in these times:

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature,. . . Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be…As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that there will always be comfort for every sorrow. I firmly believe that nature brings solace to all troubles.”

Yet how can our hearts not ache to see so much pain? You’re right to echo Vonnegut: “So it goes.”

The frost pictures are stunning–thanks for bringing these touches of beauty into our lives.
