Even on days like today, raining and cold, I’m grateful to be alive to see the beauty around everywhere. Beauty?

Yes, most of the stunning foliage is gone—though the bare mountainsides with splashes of color are spectacular—and nearly all the flowers gones as well, but won’t the stems of elderberry do just fine?

Or Sumac transformed into the unimaginable.

We are left with much of what had been so vibrantly alive all Spring and Summer now beginning to decay, to change form, to move onward to Winter as it feeds the Earth getting ready for next Spring. A great deal has faded to browns.
Much else take on new life that had been hidden beneath the greens.

In moving onward toward colder weather, I’m finding immense beauty, every day.
Indeed! Thank you, John.

Thank you. And, of course, one of the coming attractions is new ice!! Can’t wait (but will).
John, Your work continues to amaze me. Keep it up. Hope you both are doing well. All is good here. Best to Liz.
