Still Learning To See

Garden friends

When summer arrives and the garden becomes a wall of greenness, many creatures—large and small, pollinator and predator, flying and crawling, welcomed and not—countless variations of life, all come along in the bargain.

This remarkable abundance, without exception, is, of course, entirely fueled by the Sun.

When I take time to look and see even a small part, I am stunned by the impossibility of it all, this amazing web of life in which we are caught.
