The other kind of social distancing—hugging—is a challenge these days. I’d suggest, however, there are plenty of wonderfully huggable trees. I think trees probably love hugs from us. I know I love getting them from trees.
As you can see, the tree or the hugger can be young or old, big or small, in a group or single, squeeze them hard or just stand beside them. Trees don’t really care how we do it.
It might be worth a try this week! You may even find angels up there in the top of the tree you are hugging.
Ah, John–this is my favorite of all your wonderful posts, and that picture of me hugging the Parr Oak says it all! (And of course my favorite bumper sticker is “I not only hug trees, I kiss them too!” 🙂 You’re lifting our spirits every day! Thanks so very much XO
You must keep showing up!! Grateful for you too.
Reading a book called “Overstory”. Wonderful tree stuff in there. t
