Still Learning To See

Ice, amazing stuff!

Seeing ice form is one of the great delights of my life. Not only understanding why and where it forms on a small stream this time of year but also enjoying the beauty of the resulting dynamic changes.

Last week the ice was forming in only a few places, mainly in areas open to the sky where the rocks had probably cooled more. That a small difference in temperature results in these dramatic changes never ceases to amaze me!

As temperatures again drop below zero in the next week, the changes will be even more substantial and soon most of the ice will probably be snow-covered as well.

  2. Earlier in Life, I gave birth to 4 children. A while after that, I ‘gave birth’ to a small enterprise; a kid’s catalog of language learning materials, with the help of one of Apple’s early computers.

I couldn’t believe how great it was! To be able to “publish”! with just me and this small plastic box, a machine…a catalog came out! Like a flying carpet, and it carried me away on a grand adventure. I mention this because.. I kept wanting to Thank the machine!

It worked so incredibly well, in a great variety of ways: design, photos, text, mailing list, advertising, suppliers, in other countries, conferences, communications, billing, all this time & expense saving labor! Of course..”thanks” could only be given to the minds that made the invention and put it’s pieces together so well. It also worked a long time.

When I really look and see, I reach the same conclusion. No design without a Designer. And I’m humbly grateful for all this beauty and wonder.. on the whole planet.. full, teaming with Life. There’s just way too much evidence; can you see? There is one to thank..
