We once lived in an old house with no running water. Every drop of water we used came into the house in a bucket, drawn from the nearby small steam. Every drop was a gift. Even though that was over fifty years ago, I still remember the stream and the water when I turn on the tap today—what a gift water is!

Having lived a couple of years in southern Morocco, at the door of the Sahara.. A shower was a treasure! On a searing hot August day, our bus broke down.. after an hour or so.. boy from a lone dwelling arrived with a cup of well water.. I could see debris.. Did we drink?

Here in Europe, it’s been a post-Christian society for decades now; understandably, after 2 world wars, between folks of the same religion..
It’s been said that the Bible & religion are 2 different things. Granted it’s a big book. But it can give peace, hope, comfort & sage advice.. like Mt 5:44 “..Continue to love your enemies..” Imagine.
