Still Learning To See

A moment of grace

I can feel overwhelmed when I come back from being out with my camera and download a couple hundred images (or more!). All had seemed worthwhile when seen through the viewfinder but I know many will be deleted before I am done.

The process is confronting! Letting go of what seemed like a perfect image. Choosing the best image from many that are similar. Working to crop and adjust that little bit that makes such a huge difference. And, in the end, to not spend too much time at the computer screen doing all of this! I just want to end up with a photograph that shows what I saw!

Sometimes there is grace. Of the more than 200 photographs I made one afternoon at Gay Head, this of sand and rock, just as I saw it, I find lovely, simple and engaging.
