Still Learning To See

Finding art @ the beach

Just back from a long weekend with dear friends on Martha’s Vineyard, always a delight but especially so anytime after the summer crowds have departed. We had several lovely, long walks on several beaches where I enjoyed seeing these simple examples of “found art.”

I know my sense of what is art comes from what I’ve seen and learned to value in my life, at least in part, but I also wonder if I’d not find beauty in these abstractions regardless of my past. This “art” seems so simply timeless.

The only things missing here are the hot sun, cool air and deliciously warm water. Sorry! I trust these small gems have enough beauty to stand on their own.

Each one a gem! I love this collection of images.

  2. Thanks, Deb. Any excuse to walk the beach, right?!
