  1. The sunset in the windows is stunning, John–although a piece of me feels as if the glory has been trapped in a cage built by humans. So glad you can find beauty wherever you go, since cities make me hyperventilate! 🙂

    • When Liz and I were on the train to Brooklyn last night, packed in like proverbial sardines, I watched a guy a few feet away beginning to hyperventilate. He shut his eyes and did some deep breathing and then came back. After another stop or two the train emptied and he became much calmer. We ended up having a lovely, 10-stop conversation about all sorts of things, and then he and his wife got off at the same stop we did and helped us find where we were going to. “Caged” sunsets and crowded train conversations—who knew?!
