Still Learning To See

The colors of late fall

Late fall brings certain colors that I don’t see throughout the rest of the year. One of these is the odd shade of blue found in the flowers of Monkshood (Aconitum). Conveniently, the lovely golden-yellow leaves of a Witch Hazel (Hamamelis) bush were in the background. What a combination!

And the bees were enjoying the Monkshood flowers, which provide some of the last nectar of the season.
