Still Learning To See

Oh those colors!

My written words are inadequate this time of year so I’ll let my photographs speak.

Even caught underwater among the reflections of the blue sky and fall foliage, the leaves of Red Maple stand out. Kent McFarland has a great discussion of fall color on his recent Audubon blog.

Although we have no Sassafras growing in Central Vermont—they do grow in the Champlain Valley—it is a favorite tree from my childhood. I love seeing its hands against the blue sky this time of year.
