Still Learning To See

Be ready…and wait

“Be ready” is a great motto for photographers. So much of what we do is to simply wait.

A large storm blew through Vermont last night. All who went to the pig-roast at Applecheek Farm were driven inside by rain that filled the air to overflowing in its wildness. I figured sunset was never going to happen.

Lo and behold, I happened to look out a window and saw potential. A few minutes later it all began to happen. I only had a “point and shoot” but am still pleased to be able to share this.

John — I took the same picture last night, but our picture turned out reddish. Why?? It was definitely a yellow sunset. Was lovely.

  2. Good question! I was up north of Elmore and that’s what it looked like there.
