One of my great delights being in Alaska was a trip to a beach on the south end of Kodiak with a large, fine deposit of fossils, mostly shells. I’ve not been able to discover their origin in the literature.

Still Learning To See 
This is an incredible picture! I think of the Dillard book I sent Liz, TEACHING A STONE TO TALK–oh, if only these fossils could speak, what an ancient tongue it would be.
