While not on the top of my “favorites” list, it was pretty cool to see bears. This one, viewed about 30 yards away from the Denali bus, was the best (and safest) view. They are big and really still live in the wild—even if we were driving by in a bus. In Denali they’ve become accustomed to seeing buses rather than people and are generally pretty nonplussed by the whole situation. This one lolled and slept while we watched.
Yup, we saw bears!
