Still Learning To See

Another amazing day in Alaska…

I’ve found it challenging to not use superlatives the past few days! Paxson has been a great base to explore, both north and west. The views along the Denali Highway are beyond my abilities to write about them. In leu of that, here are several photographs, near and far.

Glaucus Gentian (Gentiana glauca), small and as open as it gets but, nonetheless, a stunningly beautiful shade of blue. This was one of a hundred species in bloom in the area.

A view of the Alaska Range to the north of Denali Highway showing a storm brewing over the Gulakana Glacier. It never did rain! We had amazing views that changed minute by minute with the clouds and sun—a photographer’s dream!
