Still Learning To See

A bit more green

I don’t mean to appear “green greedy.” The dew photographs yesterday whetted my appetite for more green—soft, warm green. I saw a lot of green today—mosses, lichens, wintered-over ferns, tree bark but nothing quite like this yet!

Guttation from this Serviceberry or Shad (Amelanchier canadensis ) leaf results in droplets of xylem sap, mostly water, forming along the margins. This is very different from the dew I showed yesterday though sometimes I see both on the same plant.
