Snow changes color depending on the color of the sky above it. I made these photographs several years ago at Morse Farm and love the way they illustrate the changes in the light on the snow. Maybe we’ll have some snow soon!
The sun low in the afternoon sky reflects warm light off the west side of this snow formation while the rest of it is reflecting the clear blue sky.
The indirect warm light of the setting sun is magnificent on the snow.
After the sun is down variations in light intensity and the blueness of the evening sky etch magical patterns with the wind and snow.
Still Learning To See 
Lovely shots. We were supposed to get some snow last night, but it turned out to be only a dusting. All we’ve ended up with is single digit temps (cold for here). Hope you get some snow before the winter is through.
Yes, cold here this morning too. Also, I didn’t mean to say we have NO snow. We just have the same 2-3″ we’ve had for weeks and weeks and weeks. 🙂
…and how much the wind sculpting snow reminds me of water sculpting the sand on a beach. Different mediums, similar results.
