I got out and early this morning when I noticed a dull red glow in the eastern sky. Even long before sun up the color was promising an amazing show to come.
A walk up the hill proved to be good exercise for both body and soul. As I watched the developing sunrise, however, I noticed that I just wasn’t seeing it. Instead I was framing it! Not that that is all bad but I enjoyed just putting my camera down and looking at the whole sky with my “super wide-angle” eyes.
While my mind often crops a scene, nearly always I would not trade being out in the cold and wind actually seeing the rising sun for a photograph of the same sunrise. Life doesn’t always fit inside the viewfinder.
