We’ve enjoyed being together with family this week here in a gorgeous Vermont summer. Daily dips in a pond—shared with a family of loons—are a time I am able to let tensions about the state of the world ease. On slow walks in our lovely city park, especially walking together, it becomes easy to remember what, beyond the headlines, is important.

This Planet we share together is magnificent, a fact easy to miss in recent days. All of it, except perhaps where humans have damaged it, overflows with life—diverse, adaptive, and abundant. Yes, clearly, together—that word again—we have made a mess of so much and, no getting around it, even bigger messes are probably on the way but that is us living out of sync with the possibilities of life. The magnificence of life inspires me and reminds we are about living together. What will I do today with that inspiration to help restore togetherness in this world of ours?

Thanks for your thoughts John. A reminder of all the beauty and wonder around us. It’s so hard in these times to remember life is good.

Yes, and so easy to see how bountiful life really is when we simply let it be so.
Thanks as always John
