Club moss, a plant that has grown on Earth since pre-historic times, soaking up the life-giving sun on a cold, snowy morning.
The sun shown brightly yesterday and again today for the first time in what seems like weeks. It is amazing how my whole attitude about life improves seeing the shadows on the snow!

And, although it was not hot today (below freezing), the fact that the Sun’s energy actually warms me—after traveling a little over eight minutes through space—is beyond comprehension.

The view out my window of the bright, morning sun shining through the branches of a group of Maple trees.
Yes, we humans have caused many damaging changes on the planet, and too many we do not fully understand, but the reality of this incredible, life-giving star in the sky is undeniable.

At week’s end the Earth will have changed position enough that the Sun will again come through our kitchen window—a day to celebrate here in the middle of a Vermont winter.

Thank you for taking time this week, even if only for a few minutes, to enjoy the sunshine.
