This is a wonderful time of year to be out photographing ice. Of course, at -20F, I both need to dress warmly as well as be extra careful to avoid a potentially dangerous accident. The results along two of my favorite streams (Middlesex and Northfield) this past week were well worth any minor discomfort I experienced—nothing a cup of coffee at Red Hen after couldn’t cure anyway!
The variations in ice texture and color are unlimited and always a delight to explore.
Next time I’m in Vt in the winter, let’s do more photography. Love these collections! Very satisfying to see the infinite variations of nature
