Still Learning To See

Distant but still near

So many lives have been affected by this storm. Seeing Lower Manhattan, seemingly distant like this, reminds me that being in crisis is the norm for too many of our global family.

I made this photograph of Lower Manhattan almost exactly nine years ago. From the air it is easy, perhaps too easy, to forget what happens on the street level. I think seeing the world from both perspectives is important.
