I don't always take photos only of natural abstracts. I also enjoy finding abstractions in the built environment like the facade of this old building at the Lane Shops in Montpelier.
I’ve had some lovely walks lately with friends and family. Walking is such an amazing way to be with a person. There is a sharing of the passing scene and little of the confrontation, even if gentle, that comes with sitting and talking. If the conversation lags, there is much for both of us to look at and contemplate, some of which is bound to prompt further conversation. I especially enjoy the easiness of having quiet times on these walks, times when a bird makes itself known or we stop to listen to a stream or the wind.
I also enjoy walking alone. Ultimately we are, aren’t we? I find it too easy, however, to be alone and know it is often not the best place for me to be. Part of me is the proverbial hermit in the woods! What is true for me is that I can enjoy being alone because I know I will come back to be with others. As Jack Johnson says in his song, it’s “better together.”
Well written John. A lot of substance in your words. Thanks
